Haim Teases New Single from Forthcoming Album
The Los Angeles-based sister trio, Haim, has offered a glimpse of their upcoming musical venture with a preview of a new single. This sneak peek follows their recently released track, “Relationships,” which featured a breezy, R&B influence and a music video starring Drew Starkey.
New Single Preview
Haim has shared a short teaser for their yet-to-be-titled new single, which marks a stylistic shift towards a more guitar-driven sound. In the snippet, frontwoman Danielle Haim delivers poignant lyrics such as:
“Renters’ rights, squatters’ rights/ I’ll be the gatekeeper for the rest of my life.”
“I don’t want your charity/ Spend a night in the cold if it keeps me free.”
A video accompanying the teaser promotes a message of empowerment, reading: “This is your sign to leave him,” and is accompanied by the caption “Single girl summer,” hinting at the song’s theme.
Anticipation Builds for Album Launch
Fans recently received a text from Haim, hinting at new music on the horizon: “You guys ready for another[?]”. This was soon followed by a video on TikTok promising a “new song tease this week.”
As for their upcoming fourth studio album, the band has yet to announce a release date. It will succeed their 2020 album, “Women In Music Pt. III,” and includes a notable track titled “Gone,” which is reported to feature a sample from George Michael’s hit, “Freedom! ’90.” This song reportedly reflects themes of clarity post-breakup.
Creative Evolution and Collaborations
Alana Haim has described the forthcoming album as “the closest we’ve ever gotten to how we wanted to sound,” emphasizing that this recording experience has been remarkably different. They once again collaborated with producer Rostam Batmanglij, known for his work with Vampire Weekend and Clairo.
Danielle Haim elaborated on this partnership, stating: “Working with Rostam, in general, it’s very quick, kinetic with him, which I really love as an artist.” She noted that previous recording processes felt more prolonged and laborious by comparison.
Upcoming Appearances
Haim is set to perform at Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025, scheduled for next month in Sefton Park, Liverpool. Additionally, the band will participate in the Primavera Sound festival in both Barcelona and Porto this summer.
Recent Collaborations
In addition to their upcoming work, Danielle Haim has partnered with Bon Iver on a new single titled “If Only I Could Wait,” further showcasing the band’s diverse musical interests.
