Night Tiger Animation Studios develops Boy King, an original Indian animated feature rooted in heritage, character, and cinematic craft.

A young prince stands before a crown that asks more of him than strength. In Boy King, the original animated feature being developed by Night Tiger Animation Studios, leadership is not presented as a simple inheritance. It is a test of judgment, courage, restraint, and responsibility in a world shaped by ancient duty, danger, magic, monsters, curses, and legacy.

Jaipur Studio Develops Original Indian Animation

Based in Jaipur, India, Night Tiger Animation Studios is advancing the proof of concept trailer for Boy King, its first original animated feature project. The planned 90-minute film is set thousands of years ago in an imagined ancient Indian world and follows a young prince who must prove that he has the wisdom to rule, not only the force to survive.

Founded in November 2025 by Jayant Kumar, Abhi Singh, and Medha Yadav, the studio was built to develop original Indian animation with craft, cultural grounding, and creative ownership. For the team, Boy King is more than a first project. It is an early expression of the kind of story world the studio wants to develop from within Indian visual culture.

A Story About Power, Growth, And Responsibility

At the heart of Boy King is a young heir whose future depends on more than bloodline. The story follows his journey toward understanding what kind of leader he is willing to become before a kingdom shaped by history and danger can accept him. That emotional question gives the project its human center.

Night Tiger Animation Studios is developing the film as original Indian intellectual property, with the story world, characters, and creative direction built through the studio’s own vision. The project is being shaped as a cinematic animated feature, reflecting the studio’s belief that Indian animation has room for more feature-length stories designed around atmosphere, character, and theatrical scale.

The project also carries personal meaning for Kumar. After leaving India at the age of 12 and spending 18 years abroad, he returned to build Night Tiger Animation Studios in Jaipur. That return gives Boy King a personal layer beyond its fantasy setting. It is a story about a prince finding his place, developed by a founder who came home to build something original.

Experience Behind The Studio

Kumar brings more than a decade of animation industry experience to the company. He lived in the United States for ten years and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation from Savannah College of Art and Design, where he trained under former Disney and DreamWorks Animation artists. He later worked in Los Angeles, Montreal, Sydney, and London.

According to the studio, Kumar’s professional experience includes work connected to major productions such as Spider-Man, F1: The Movie, Moon Knight, Aquaman, and 1917. Abhi Singh brings a decade of visual effects experience, while Medha Yadav leads operations and investor relations. Together, the founding team combines creative, technical, and production backgrounds.

“I spent ten years making other people’s worlds feel real, Spider-Man, F1, Moon Knight, 1917. The goal was to always come back home and tell my own stories,” said Kumar, co-founder of Night Tiger Animation Studios.

That sense of return shapes the studio’s expectations for Boy King. Kumar said the team is focused on craft rather than comparison. “Every frame in Boy King has to earn its place next to what I saw daily working on those Hollywood projects. That is the only bar we are measuring ourselves against, not the West, not other Indian studios, just the work itself.”

A Textured Visual Direction

The visual approach for Boy King combines 3D animation, 2D animation, and practical effects-inspired techniques. In animation, those influences can help guide movement, surfaces, atmosphere, and cinematic weight.

Night Tiger Animation Studios describes the look of Boy King as tactile rather than glossy. The team is drawing inspiration from Caravaggio’s dramatic use of light and shadow, Bernini’s marble surfaces, and Bouguereau’s approach to rendering flesh.

“We do not want us to be anyone’s answer to anyone,” said Kumar. “The moment you are India’s version of something, you have already lost the plot. We just want to make something good.”

That philosophy gives Boy King a clear creative position. The studio is not presenting the film as an imitation of another market. It is developing the project as an original Indian animated feature with its own visual language, emotional stakes, and production discipline.

Early Industry Presentation

According to Night Tiger Animation Studios, the Boy King proof of concept trailer was presented in private industry viewings during Annecy and MIFA 2026 in France. The studio says these presentations helped introduce the project to animation professionals while keeping the film’s creative direction centered on its Indian story world.

For a young independent studio from Jaipur, those early conversations mark a step in the project’s development journey. Night Tiger Animation Studios is entering the market with a focus on original work, artist-led development, and Indian intellectual property. Boy King reflects that ambition through a story that blends inheritance, responsibility, and fantasy.
