Dale Haddon, a Canadian actress and model, passed away on Friday at the age of 76 due to carbon monoxide poisoning. She was found at the home of her stepson, Mark Blucas, known for his role in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Local authorities reported high levels of carbon monoxide in the residence, suspected to be caused by a malfunctioning heating system. It remains unclear if Blucas was present at the time of her death.
Haddon was born and raised in Montreal and was fluent in both English and French. She initially trained as a ballet dancer before transitioning to modeling. Throughout her career, she represented major brands like Revlon, Estée Lauder, Clairol, and Max Factor. She gained significant recognition, appearing multiple times on the cover of Vogue and being featured on the 1973 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Additionally, she was recognized by Harper’s Bazaar as one of the 10 Most Beautiful Women.
In the early 1970s, Haddon began acting, with notable roles in films such as “The World’s Greatest Athlete,” “Madame Claude,” “North Dallas Forty,” and “Bullets Over Broadway.” She later became the face of L’Oréal’s anti-aging products and authored a book titled “Ageless Beauty: A Woman’s Guide to Lifelong Beauty and Well-Being.”
Apart from her work in modeling and acting, Haddon was committed to philanthropic efforts. She served as an ambassador for UNICEF and founded Women One, an organization aimed at improving educational opportunities for women. Her legacy includes both her contributions to the arts and her advocacy for social causes.
