Disney Unveils Trailer for Tron: Ares

On April 5, Disney reignited excitement for the Tron franchise with the release of the first trailer for Tron: Ares. This upcoming film marks the third installment, following the pioneering 1982 original and its 2010 sequel, Tron: Legacy.

The recently released trailer provides an exhilarating look into a dystopian landscape where the boundaries between reality and the digital universe blur. Clocking in at one minute and thirty seconds, the trailer opens with a breathtaking chase sequence featuring law enforcement and programs on futuristic motorcycles.
As the action unfolds, viewers are treated to a dynamic showcase of laser battles coupled with an electrifying soundtrack. A noteworthy moment occurs when Jeff Bridges, reprising his iconic role as Kevin Flynn, states, “Ready? ‘Cause there’s no going back,” coinciding with the digital emergence of Jared Leto’s character, Ares.
Soundtrack and Cast
In a thrilling addition, the film features original music provided by the renowned band Nine Inch Nails, comprised of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Their past collaborations have included award-winning scores for films such as Soul and The Social Network.
Tron: Ares boasts an impressive cast, which includes Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson. Anticipation is building as the movie is set to premiere in theaters on October 10.
Director and Music Contributions
Directed by Joachim Rønning, Tron: Ares serves as the continuation of Tron: Legacy, which featured a celebrated score by Daft Punk that reached the number four spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
During the 2024 D23 event, Disney confirmed that Reznor and Ross would be composing the score for this installment, marking the first occasion where their work will be credited under the Nine Inch Nails banner.
