Matt Pinfield’s Inspiring Comeback After Stroke
Radio host and former MTV VJ, Matt Pinfield, recently shared a positive health update with his followers on social media. Following a serious stroke earlier this year, he expressed gratitude for his recovery and announced an exciting upcoming public appearance: he will host Green Day’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
Health Journey and Recovery
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Pinfield conveyed, “Slowly but surely recovering..lots of physical therapy..Fighting my way back!! One day at a time.” His announcement comes as a beacon of hope after enduring a significant health scare. Following his stroke on January 6, Pinfield spent over two months in a coma and faced an arduous journey toward recovery.
Reflecting on his ordeal, Pinfield noted, “I was unresponsive for two months. Friends were thinking they were coming to see me for the last time.” Thankfully, his resilience has shone through as he has now transitioned from intensive care.
Support from Family and Friends
Pinfield credited his daughter, Jessica, for playing a critical role in his recovery. After concerns regarding his medical care arose, Jessica took temporary guardianship to oversee his medical and financial decisions. “She protected me,” he remarked, acknowledging her profound impact during this challenging time.
Upcoming Event: Green Day’s Ceremony
On May 1 at 11:30 a.m. PT, Pinfield will host Green Day’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, a highly anticipated event. Alongside him, tennis star Serena Williams and actor Ryan Reynolds will be guest speakers, contributing to the celebration of the band’s achievements.
The event will also be livestreamed on the Walk of Fame’s official website, allowing fans to join in the festivities from anywhere.
