In January 2025, PlayStation Plus users can look forward to a new selection of games as part of their subscription. While PS Plus had a strong year in 2024, expectations are high for the upcoming offerings. The announcement for the Essential Tier games will be made on January 1, 2025, and they will be available for download starting January 7, 2025. For the Extra and Premium tiers, announcements will occur on January 15, 2025, with availability from January 21, 2025.
Among the anticipated titles in the Essential Tier, players can expect to see “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” for PS5, where players assume the roles of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark in a wide-open Metropolis overrun by Brainiac. Additionally, “Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered” on PS4 offers the thrill of high-speed chases as either a racer or a cop, featuring enhanced visuals and cross-platform multiplayer. Another title, “The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe,” provides a unique exploration experience with its mix of comedy and philosophical themes as players control Stanley in a world filled with choices that challenge conventional gameplay.
Certain titles will be leaving the PS Plus service in January 2025, including “It Takes Two,” “Aliens: Dark Descent,” and “TemTem,” all of which will be available until January 6, 2025. Several more games, such as “Resident Evil 2” and various iterations of the “Just Cause” series, will be removed on January 13, 2025.
