Kylie Minogue Concludes Tension Tour in Los Angeles
Tour Highlights
Pop icon Kylie Minogue wrapped up her Tension Tour with an electrifying performance at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on May 2. This marked a significant milestone, being her first arena tour across the United States and Canada.
Opening Remarks
As the show began, Minogue greeted her fans with enthusiasm, stating, “Good evening, Los Angeles! We are here! Thank you so much each and every one of you for coming out tonight, and welcome to the Tension Tour.”
A Musical Journey
The two-hour concert featured a selection of hits spanning four decades, alongside eight tracks from her latest albums, Tension and Tension II. Standout performances included the Grammy-winning track “Padam Padam” and the show-opening number “Lights, Camera, Action,” both of which showcased her recent work.
Tour Background
The Tension Tour is Minogue’s third tour in North America, following her 2011 Aphrodite Live Tour and the KYLIE trek in 2009. Unlike her earlier tours, which reached smaller crowds, this tour embraced larger arenas. Additionally, Minogue recently launched her first residency in Las Vegas at Voltaire in The Venetian during 2023-24.
The tour commenced on February 15 in Australia, transitioned through Asia, and began its North American leg on March 29, comprising 16 shows, including two notable nights at Madison Square Garden on April 4-5. Following the Los Angeles concert, the tour will continue to Europe, South America, and return to North America for concluding performances in Mexico in August.
Moments of Reflection
During her performance in Los Angeles, Minogue took a moment to reflect on her career, expressing gratitude to her audience: “Here we are in 2025 and I get to be on a world tour with these beautiful humans… I get very emotional thinking about this… so very, very grateful. Thank you so much for being here.”
A Showcase of Hits
The concert featured a rich array of Minogue’s classic hits, including her debut single “The Loco-Motion” from 1987, “Better the Devil You Know” (1990), and more contemporary favorites like “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” (2001) and “All the Lovers” (2010). Rita Ora, the opening act, joined her onstage for “Spinning Around.”
Closing Remarks
Before wrapping up the evening with “Love at First Sight,” Minogue shared her heartfelt appreciation: “You’ve been beyond tonight… thank you so much for your beautiful energy… For being there for each other! I just want to give a real shout-out to our entire crew because this has been an incredible run.” She ended the concert with a light-hearted mention of her long-standing relationships in the industry, saying, “I’ve got some old friends here tonight. Look at me now!”
