Jesy Nelson, a former member of the girl group Little Mix, has publicly announced her pregnancy. The singer shared the news on Instagram with her boyfriend Zion Foster, jokingly stating, “She’s eating for 3 people now,” which suggests the possibility of her expecting twins. Nelson left Little Mix in 2020 after citing mental health concerns related to her time in the band.
Her announcement comes amidst her former bandmates also experiencing motherhood; Perrie Edwards welcomed a son in 2021 with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Lee-Anne Pinnock gave birth to twins the same year. After Nelson departed, Little Mix continued as a trio but later decided to take a short break in 2022 to pursue solo projects following their “Confetti” tour.
In related news about the group, Jade Thirlwall, another former bandmate, has released a new single titled “IT Girl”. She reflected recently on her time on The X Factor, expressing concern over the mental health challenges faced by contestants. Thirlwall also shared her struggles with embracing her Arab heritage while in the band, noting how negative media portrayals influenced her perspective.
Additionally, Thirlwall’s recent single “Angel Of My Dreams” has garnered critical acclaim, ranking fifth on NME’s list of the 50 Best Songs of 2024, showcasing her individuality and talent in pop music. She is slated to perform at All Points East in London later this year, where she will support RAYE along with other artists.
