Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially finalized their divorce, which was announced following a judge’s approval of Lopez’s petition on January 6. The couple had previously agreed to the terms of their divorce settlement in September, with neither responsible for spousal support or legal fees. They decided to divide their shared assets, but the specifics of this agreement remain private. Lopez will revert to her maiden name, dropping “Affleck.”
Reports suggest that Lopez is in a positive place following the divorce and is eager to move on from this chapter in her life. She and Affleck eloped in Las Vegas in July 2022 and celebrated with a traditional ceremony a month later. However, their relationship ended just two years after their marriage, with Lopez citing “irreconcilable differences.”
This marks the second separation for the couple, who originally got engaged in 2002 before parting ways in 2004. Their relationship had seen a resurgence when they reunited in 2022, which was partially documented by Lopez in the film “The Greatest Untold Love Story.” Recently, Affleck purchased a new mansion in Pacific Palisades shortly after Lopez’s birthday, while they have listed their Beverly Hills home for sale at $68 million.
