Gwen Stefani Unveils ‘Still Gonna Love You’ from Deluxe Album ‘Bouquet’
New Music from the Pop Icon
Gwen Stefani has launched her latest single, ‘Still Gonna Love You’, marking a significant addition to her luxurious re-release of the 2024 solo album ‘Bouquet’. This new deluxe edition not only encompasses the original tracks from the November release but also presents acoustic renditions of each song along with the fresh track.
‘Still Gonna Love You’: A Love That Endures
Co-written with renowned artist Finneas, the song embraces themes of unconditional love. Stefani expresses this sentiment with the poignant lyrics, “You can push me away, go ahead and make your mistakes, I won’t judge you / Nothing that you can say if you want me to hate you, I’m still gonna love you.”
Stefani elaborated on the song’s essence, stating, “This song is about love. A love that can’t be broken, a love that no matter what is always going to be there, and a love that can always bring you back home.”
The Creative Journey Behind ‘Bouquet’
In an interview with NME, Gwen Stefani shared insights into her songwriting process for ‘Bouquet’, her first solo project in seven years. She remarked on the challenges of balancing motherhood with her artistic pursuits: “I don’t go to the studio every day and just self-indulge in like, ‘What do I have to say today?’ It’s like, hey, they’re at school, I got three hours so let’s see if I can get down there to write.”
Musical Influences and Nostalgia
Stefani pointed to yacht rock as a significant influence on the album’s sound. “I always remember sitting in the back of my mom’s car and all of the songs playing [on the radio] were just so good,” she shared, referencing artists like Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, and the Eagles. She noted a yearning for musical complexity, saying, “I want to write music that feels like this [yacht rock] music because there’s more chords in it, there’s more melody.”
No Doubt’s Reunion and Reflections
No Doubt reunited earlier this year for a performance at the LA FireAid benefit, which marked a return to the stage for the band after their Coachella appearance in 2024. Reflecting on the time away, Stefani expressed, “It’s not like we made a decision to not do anything… everybody’s lives just happened.” She recounted the personal challenges that influenced their hiatus, emphasizing the importance of family during tumultuous times.
