Happy Gilmore, originally portrayed by Sandler, is a hockey player known for his temper who surprisingly excels at golf. The first movie follows his journey as he competes in a golf tournament to save his grandmother’s house, facing off against the overconfident shooter McGavin.
The cast of the sequel is set to include not only Sandler but also rising star Margaret Qualley, who shared that her husband, Jack Antonoff, played a role in her casting. She humorously admitted to having little golf experience but described her role as a significant opportunity in her career. Additionally, rapper Eminem will make a notable cameo; while details about his character remain under wraps, Sandler praised him for his humor and contributions during filming.
Although a release date for Happy Gilmore 2 has not been confirmed, it is anticipated to premiere on Netflix in 2025.
