Clairo Cancels Primavera Sound 2025 Performance
Musician Clairo has announced she will no longer perform at Primavera Sound 2025, citing logistical challenges that have impacted her ability to deliver the performance she desires. The festival, set in Barcelona, will proceed without her this year.
Statement from Clairo
Reflecting on her decision, Clairo stated, “There are some logistical issues with getting my show to/from Primavera that have forced my hand here. I never want to give my fans anything but the absolute best set I can do, and that won’t be possible at this time. I’m so sorry again and I hope to be able to make it up to you sooner than later.”
Response from Primavera Sound
The festival organizers expressed their disappointment in a statement shared via Instagram, saying, “We are deeply saddened by this news and share the fans’ frustration. We, too, were very much looking forward to welcoming her again at Primavera Sound Barcelona.” Clairo added her own sentiments, saying, “I’m so sad about it, because Primavera is iconic and returning to the fest is something I’ve been looking forward to for ages.”
A Brief History
Clairo first graced the Primavera Sound stage in 2019, shortly before releasing her debut album, Immunity. Earlier this year, she captured audiences at Coachella with music from her third studio album, Charm, which debuted last year.
As she remarked in an interview with Rolling Stone, “Sling and Immunity were both extremely informative for me, and I couldn’t have made this record without the context of either of them at all. I was like, ‘How can these two records come from the same person?’” She described Charm as a blend of her previous works, aiming to demonstrate her evolution as an artist.
Upcoming Performances and Festival Lineup
This summer, Clairo is set to embark on a festival tour, with performances scheduled at major events including:
- Governors Ball in New York
- BST Hyde Park in London
- Lollapalooza in Chicago
- All Things Go in Washington D.C. and New York
Primavera Sound 2025 boasts an impressive lineup, featuring headliners like Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter. Other notable acts include LCD Soundsystem, FKA Twigs, HAIM, Jamie XX, and many more.
