Carín León and Alejandro Fernández Release ‘Me Está Doliendo’
On May 8, acclaimed Mexican artists Carín León and Alejandro Fernández unveiled their latest musical collaboration, titled “Me Está Doliendo.”
Musical Direction
Although both León and Fernández are known for their diverse talents within the realm of Latin music, they chose to explore a more acoustic-pop style with this release. The song is marked by its emotional depth and lyrical vulnerability.
Song Composition and Lyrics
“Me Está Doliendo” features a captivating blend of acoustic guitars and a steady drumbeat, which frames the heartfelt performances of both artists. The lyrics eloquently express the pain of heartache, as each artist alternates in delivering poignant reflections on their emotional struggles.
“It’s hurting me, and I ask myself if maybe you’re thinking of me, I’m not meant for someone else to be hugging me,” sings Fernández. León responds, “That’s how things happen in this heart, it’s good at loving you but bad at forgetting you,” smoothly transitioning into a captivating electric guitar solo.
Context and Anticipation
The collaboration follows a social media teaser in which León and Fernández performed together, sparking speculation about a new rendition of Fernández’s 2004 classic, “Me Dediqué a Perderte.” León expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “Thank you [Alejandro Fernández] for singing with me one of my favorite songs.” Shortly thereafter, they confirmed the release of their original track, “Me Está Doliendo,” which will also feature on the extended version of León’s upcoming album, Palabra de To’s.
