In a recent interview, Springsteen praised White, stating, “He’s a very good singer,” and noted that the cast of the film is exceptional.
White, known for his role in “The Bear,” had previously mentioned his intention to sing in the film, saying, “I’m going to give it a try.” His performance has reportedly garnered admiration not only from Springsteen but also from other cast members, including Jeremy Strong and Odessa Young. Springsteen highlighted White’s acting skills and his unique interpretation of the musician’s persona, indicating that fans would resonate with his portrayal.
During filming, which took place in Bayonne, New Jersey, Springsteen visited the set and was photographed embracing White and director Scott Cooper. They were seen enjoying the atmosphere, which included classic cars like the Chevrolet Z28 Camaro, an element reflective of Springsteen’s personal experiences.
The biopic, first announced in April 2024, has been met with positive comments, including from Springsteen’s manager, Jon Landau, who praised the casting decision.
