Beyoncé has shared a teaser for her halftime performance at the inaugural NFL Christmas Game Day on December 25, which will be streamed live on Netflix. This marks her first performance of 2024, part of a special titled “A Cowboy Carter Christmas.” The halftime show is set to occur during the game between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. ET.
In the teaser released on December 24, Beyoncé is seen playing the banjo while sitting in the middle of a football field. The video humorously incorporates Netflix’s buffering graphic, which has often been associated with live streaming challenges. The singer’s post included a warm message, expressing joy for the Christmas occasion and excitement for her performance in Houston.
Viewers eager to catch the show should be aware that it will only be available on Netflix for three hours after the live stream ends in the U.S., disappearing around 11 p.m. ET. However, international audiences will have 24 hours to watch the performance following the event.
Beyoncé’s performance will feature songs from her album “Cowboy Carter,” alongside appearances from several special guests. There are indications that the performance will not exceed 20 minutes. Prior to her show, Mariah Carey is set to perform her holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” at the game’s opening.
Released to critical acclaim, “Cowboy Carter” received a five-star review and made NME’s list of the best albums of 2024. Beyoncé’s continuous success is further highlighted by her historic achievement as the most nominated musician in Grammy history, now with 99 nominations.
Outside of her music, Beyoncé’s influence inspires other artists, such as Stormzy, who expressed aspirations to emulate her after watching her documentary film, “Homecoming: A Beyoncé Movie.”
