Yesterday (December 17), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced new certifications for several of Beyoncé’s releases, bringing her total number of certified titles to a whopping 103, making her the highest of any female artist to date. This was the highest number.
The record comes after several of her albums and singles received new certification, according to the RIAA.
Her latest album, “Cowboy Carter,” achieved platinum status, and her hit singles “Texas Hold’em” and “16 Carriages” went two-time platinum and gold, respectively. Additionally, 2022’s “Renaissance” is now 2x Platinum.
Other new recognitions include 2003’s “Crazy In Love” and 2013’s “Drunk In Love,” both of which she co-starred with husband Jay-Z. These two songs went 8x platinum.
Her highest certifications are “Halo” and “Single Ladies,” both of which were each certified 11x platinum.
This record-breaking feat comes as Beyoncé became the most nominated musician in Grammy Awards history in November. She previously tied Jay-Z with 88 nominations each, but has since been nominated for a whopping 11 awards at next year’s Grammys, all for “Cowboy Carter.” She currently holds a record-breaking 99 nominations and will break the record for most Grammy wins in 2023, winning a total of 32 trophies.
Cowboy Carter received a five-star review from NME upon release, with Jenessa Williams writing: It’s very intimate and vocally focused, while also making way for the country’s up-and-comers. ”
The album was ranked 7th on NME’s 50 Best Albums of 2024 list, and “16 Carriages” was named 8th Best Songs of 2024.
In other news, Beyoncé will soon headline the NFL’s Christmas Day game halftime show. This event will be broadcast live on Netflix. It has been confirmed that she will perform the song “Cowboy Carter” live for the first time during her halftime set.
