J-hope Unveils New Single ‘Mona Lisa’ Ahead of World Tour
On March 21, BTS rapper J-hope launched his latest track titled ‘Mona Lisa’, marking his second solo release following the recent collaboration ‘Sweet Dreams’ with Miguel. Both singles are part of his plan to release a total of three tracks this year.
Details of the New Release
The single, distributed by Big Hit Music, is characterized as a performance-driven piece, something J-hope expressed excitement about, particularly for his dedicated fanbase known as ARMY. “It’s a performance-driven track I’m presenting after a long time. I prepared it as a gift, thinking of ARMYs who’ve been waiting for a performance song. I’m really excited about it myself,” he stated, according to The Korea Times.
Creative Involvement
In addition to performing, J-hope contributed as a co-producer on ‘Mona Lisa’. Reflecting on the track, he mentioned, “When I first heard the track, I loved it, but I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. However, after modifying it in Los Angeles to better suit me, it ended up fitting surprisingly well.” He added that he was pleased with how the overall concept developed during the creative process.
World Tour and Future Releases
Following the single’s release, J-hope is gearing up for his ‘Hope On The Stage’ world tour, which will take him to 14 cities. Starting from March to April, he will tour North America before heading to Asia in mid-April, with stops planned in the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and more.

J-hope received notable acclaim for his live performances. A five-star review by NME’s Rhian Daly of his opening shows in Seoul emphasized his connection to the stage, stating, “It’s clear he’s missed the stage, and here is where J-hope shines the brightest – something he’s made obvious with BTS but is now reinforcing by himself with a set that highlights his multifaceted talents and allows him to burn more powerfully than ever.”
