In a recent interview promoting her upcoming Netflix film The Electric State, Millie Bobby Brown disclosed her true name during a light-hearted exchange with co-star Chris Pratt. Contrary to popular belief, her real name includes “Bonnie” as her middle name.

During a discussion with BuzzFeed UK, Brown stated, “My middle name is Bonnie.” To which Pratt humorously responded, “Millie Bobby Bonnie Brown?” Brown quickly clarified, “No, it’s not Bobby. It’s Millie Bonnie Brown. I’ve never told anyone that. You heard it here first.”

She further explained that she adopted “Bobby” merely for her stage persona: “Just for shits and giggles,” she added.

The film, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, stars Brown alongside renowned actor Brian Cox. Set to premiere on Netflix on March 14, the narrative explores a dystopian future where an orphaned teenage girl journeys across the American West accompanied by a robot and a quirky drifter in pursuit of her lost younger brother.

In addition to her name reveal, Brown recently addressed criticisms regarding her appearance that circulated in various tabloids. She asserted, “I refuse to apologise for growing up. I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman.”

Brown emphasized society’s tendency to criticize rather than compliment, challenging people to reflect on their reactions: “If you have a problem with that, I have to wonder – what is it that actually makes you so uncomfortable? Let’s do better. Not just for me, but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without fear of being torn apart for simply existing.”
