The 38-track compilation, released without prior notice on Tuesday (December 17), originally appeared on six limited edition vinyl records sold at Famous Goods Desk between 2016 and 2023. It’s a collection of all the music I’ve ever played.

This compilation is the first of these original records Houston, Texas December 17, 2016 was Aphex Twin’s first U.S. performance in eight years as part of Houston’s Day for Night Festival. This is the first release in seven years since it was also released without prior notice.

Since then, numerous other records have been released sporadically, including performances in London in 2017, 2019, and 2023, Manchester in 2019, and Barcelona in 2023. These records were all stamped with the Warp Records logo, and scalpers quickly appeared trying to resell these popular records online at exorbitant prices, and they quickly sold out.

Aphex Twin’s London 03.06.17 has been expanded upon since its initial physical release, with next month’s digital reissue adding 10 more songs and an additional bonus track to the revised record. It will be released in April 2024 under the title “London 03.06.17 (Field Day)”. ).

This early compilation follows the 30th anniversary expansion of Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works Volume II, released in October. Although its original release in 1994 avoided the charts outside of James’s native United Kingdom, its subsequent popularity and influence resulted in countless chart toppers upon the album’s reissues. The record again topped the UK Dance Albums chart and also debuted at number 135 on the Billboard 200 and number 3 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

While a handful of EPs and singles have been released over the past decade alongside the aforementioned merch desk drops, Aphex Twin hasn’t released a single since 2014’s Syro, which won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album the following year. Has not released a studio album.
