Timothée Chalamet didn’t take a break until 2024, when he starred in Dune: Part 2, Wonka, Completely Unknown, and filmed Marty Supreme.
On Theo Vuong’s podcast “This Past Weekend,” he said that given his immersive dedication to roles, especially when he played Bob Dylan in the biopic “A Completely Unknown,” , said she may be the most booked and busiest star in Hollywood.
“I’d never say I’m competitive, but… there are a lot of music biopics and I wanted to do a great job. I love Bob Dylan and I love this artist. This None of this can be taken for granted,” Chalamet said.
And what drives Chalamet is his “grit” to work on movies rather than television.
“There’s also a bit of a misconception about acting. You can do a nifty job on a TV show. If you take your job seriously, it can be a great lifestyle. “I just show up when I want to,” he said. “If you don’t care about what you’re doing…it’s long, long days. It’s 14 hours a day, six days a week, for three months. I know people had it harder, but I… I want to feel that spirit. I hope people don’t laugh at it. I feel like I’m the hardest worker. Maybe I shouldn’t say that. If you don’t, why are you doing this?”
He remained “fully committed” to director Josh Safdie’s next film, Marty Supreme, in which Chalamet plays a table tennis champion. Co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow.
“We basically shot this movie, Marty Supreme, all fall,” Chalamet said. “This crazy director, Josh Safdie,[on Uncut Gems]had so much energy, so much chaos. It wasn’t like the low-energy shoots. Three months of 16-hour days. And then I went on this[‘A Complete Unknown’]press tour.”
Safdie also wanted Chalamet’s eyes to appear smaller while playing the character, and had the actor obstruct his vision with accessories.
“In Marty Supreme, he wanted my eyes to look smaller, so I wear contacts,” Chalamet said. “He gave me real glasses that messed up my eyes, but I wear contacts under them to compensate for the effects of the glasses. My vision was messed up until a day ago. ”
The movie also used “Forrest Gump’s table tennis coach.”
