Rosé stopped by The Tonight Show to perform a dynamic medley of two of her recent solo songs, her hit singles “Abt” and “Toxic Till the End.”
The Blackpink singer began her performance by taking over host Jimmy Fallon’s desk, and ended up getting the late-night audience involved in singing the upbeat lyrics of “Abt.” She then moved into the more introspective “Toxic Till the End,” which she performed from the stage with her band.
Rosé also sat down with Fallon to talk about her debut solo album, Rosie, released last week, and her collaboration with Bruno Mars, Abt. Fallon asked if he ever imagined he would become such a huge star, captivating audiences around the world.
“Growing up in Australia, I always felt that my chances of becoming a singer were not very good,” she said. “So, I never really dreamed of it. But I remember singing until midnight every day. My dad seemed to want to get rid of me, and he ended up letting me go to auditions.” added, “I’m really bored in Australia, so I spend all my time in the living room singing and playing the piano.” There’s not much to do. ”
The singer recalled her audition for Blackpink, saying that she “thought it was a joke” but wanted to make good memories. “I got a call and was like, ‘What’s going on?'” she said, laughing at the result.
Rosie features 12 songs, including the singles “Apt.” and “Number One Girl” featuring Bruno Mars. The full-length project follows Rosé’s 2021 solo debut singles “On the Ground” and “Gone.” She first shared the news that she will be releasing her solo debut album in October 2024. “I poured my blood and tears into this album,” he wrote on Instagram, adding, “I can’t wait for you to hear this little diary of mine.”
Last month, Rosé revealed that Taylor Swift gave her advice because she was “a little bit drowning” when starting her solo career. “I told her I was a huge fan and I just had a few questions,” Rosé said in an interview about meeting Swift earlier this year. “As soon as she saw me, she said, ‘Let me help you wet your pants.'”
“She told me about her experience and was ready to help me,” Rose admitted. “She gave me her number and was like, ‘If you have any questions, let me know.’ Who does that? It’s like Taylor Swift! I was drowning a little bit. It was a moment, so I’m really grateful to her.”
