Dua Lipa Pulls Off Surprise Duet with Troye Sivan in Melbourne
This past weekend, Dua Lipa surprised her audience during a concert in Melbourne by inviting Troye Sivan on stage to perform his track “Rush.” The performance took place as part of Lipa’s ongoing tour in Australia, specifically during her fourth show at Rod Laver Arena.
A Tribute to Local Talent
As she has done in previous shows, Lipa took a moment to express her appreciation for Australian artists. “So this next song in the set is different every night,” she shared with attendees, mentioning her tradition of featuring a song from a local artist. “And so tonight, I thought it would be a big mistake if I didn’t play one of my favourite, favourite artists who’s also a friend of mine,” she continued.
With that, she began the performance of “Rush,” which featured Sivan joining her unexpectedly on stage. The duet marked yet another highlight of her Australian leg of the tour. You can catch footage of the performance here.
Tour Highlights and Future Dates
Dua Lipa’s tour is in support of her latest album, Radical Optimism, released last summer. Throughout her Melbourne concerts, she has also honored other Australian musicians with covers, including:
- Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”
- Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn”
- AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell”
After concluding her shows in Australia, Lipa is set to perform in the UK, beginning with two highly anticipated concerts at Wembley Stadium in London on June 20 and 21. Following these, she will head to Liverpool to perform at Anfield Stadium on June 24 and 25. Prior to her UK dates, she will tour several European cities, including:
- Paris
- Brussels
- Milano
- Amsterdam
Looking Ahead
In addition to her concert schedule, Dua Lipa is preparing for a major starring role at Glastonbury 2024. She also announced a special re-release of her acclaimed album Future Nostalgia, commemorating its fifth anniversary. The new vinyl set is set to launch on March 28, aligning closely with the original album’s release date.
Troye Sivan’s Upcoming Performances
Meanwhile, Troye Sivan is gearing up for his own performances this summer, joining Charli XCX at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. This collaboration is highly anticipated, earning recognition as a powerful lineup in the festival circuit.
