Reflections on ‘Glory’
In a recent interview with NME, Hadreas shared insights into the inspiration behind Glory and emphasized the importance of self-care for artists in the spotlight. He expressed his feelings about daily interactions, citing a tendency to feel shy or overlooked:
“I think one of the things that makes me shy in my daily life is that I’m not gonna be taken seriously because I’m little or have a different way of communicating.”
Hadreas also noted the transformative nature of performing:
“And yet I play shows and sing in front of people and I’m not terrified of that anymore… I’ve felt a sense of purpose about the job that’s made me work on that.”
Conclusion
With the release of Glory and the successful live debut of its songs, Perfume Genius continues to solidify his place in the music industry. The combination of new material and established favorites makes upcoming performances highly anticipated amongst fans.
