Morgan Wallen Graces Saturday Night Live with New Tracks
Country music artist Morgan Wallen recently made an appearance on Saturday Night Live, where he showcased two songs from his much-anticipated album, I’m the Problem.
Performance Highlights
This marked Wallen’s second time as a musical guest on the iconic late-night show. He kicked off his performance with the title track of his upcoming album, followed by the single “Just In Case.”
Upcoming Album Details
Fans can look forward to Wallen’s fourth studio album, which is set for release on May 16. Since January, he has been actively teasing the album with the release of several tracks including “Superman,” “Smile,” and “I’m a Little Crazy.”
Controversies and Challenges
The title of Wallen’s new album may touch on some of his past controversies, including multiple incidents that raised eyebrows. In 2020, Wallen was arrested in Nashville for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. More recently, he faced legal troubles related to a chair-throwing incident at a rooftop bar, resulting in guilty pleas to two misdemeanors and a week in a DUI education program.
In 2021, Wallen found himself in the center of a significant controversy after a video surfaced in which he used a racial slur. This led to major repercussions, including the removal of his music from various streaming services and being dropped by his booking agency. Despite this, Wallen’s album Dangerous: The Double Album saw an increase in sales during this period, with Wallen expressing his regret and embarrassment over the incident.
Additionally, Wallen faced criticism in October 2020 for violating CDC COVID-19 guidelines, which initially resulted in a canceled appearance on Saturday Night Live. He eventually returned to the show two months later, taking the opportunity to humorously address his earlier missteps.
Looking Ahead
Wallen has announced plans for a summer tour across North America titled I’m the Problem, marking his first full-length tour since the One Thing at a Time tour in 2023. In a recent statement, Wallen expressed his gratitude for his fans and excitement about sharing his new music on tour:
“We made so many lifelong memories on the One Night at A Time World Tour, and I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for my fans and the way they showed up each night… as I’ve been working on new music, it has inspired me to get back on the road and share these new songs with each of you on the I’m The Problem Tour. See y’all there.”
