‘Mission: Impossible’ Exhibition Launching at Museum of the Moving Image
Starting April 18, the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) in Queens will host a groundbreaking exhibition titled “Mission: Impossible — Story and Spectacle.” This exhibition is set to spotlight the incredible practical stunt work exhibited in the long-running film franchise led by star and producer Tom Cruise. As audiences prepare for the release of Ethan Hunt’s latest adventure, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the exhibition aims to unravel the artistry and craftsmanship behind the series’ thrilling narratives.
A Celebration of Practical Stunts and Technical Mastery
According to Variety, each film in the Mission: Impossible series will be given its own dedicated section within the exhibition. These sections will focus on iconic stunts from each film, illustrating how practical effects drive the stories forward. Highlights include Cruise’s iconic vault heist in the original 1996 film and his breathtaking stunt aboard a military aircraft in Rogue Nation.
Attendees can expect to view exclusive behind-the-scenes content that details the meticulous planning and execution of each stunt, along with production artifacts provided by Paramount Pictures.
