The finale of Dua Lipa’s New Zealand concert took place at Spark Arena in Auckland, marking the close of her Australia and New Zealand tour dates.

Dua Lipa brought a surprise element to her performance by inviting Neil Finn, the frontman of renowned New Zealand band Crowded House, to join her on stage. The duo delighted concertgoers with a rendition of the band’s classic 1986 hit, “Don’t Dream It’s Over.” Finn accompanied Lipa on guitar, adding a unique touch to the lively atmosphere.

Throughout the Radical Optimism tour, Lipa has been known for her dynamic performances and unexpected cover songs. For instance, in Sydney last month, she featured Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker for a special performance of “The Less I Know the Better.” Lipa expressed her admiration for Parker, stating, “I made most of Radical Optimism with this person and he’s one of my favorite artists. He’s inspired me a lot.”
Local Influences and Collaborations
Emphasizing her connection to local music, Lipa has also performed covers by various Australian and New Zealand artists, including Troye Sivan, INXS, Kylie Minogue, Vance Joy, and AC/DC. During this tour, she had the pleasure of having Sivan and Joy join her on stage for their respective hits “Rush” and “Riptide.” Additionally, she paid tribute to New Zealand singer Lorde by covering her iconic song “Royals” during another concert in the area.
Upcoming Tour Dates
Dua Lipa plans to continue her Radical Optimism tour with performances set to start in Madrid on May 11. The European leg of the tour includes stops in major cities, such as Paris, Amsterdam, London, and Dublin. Following Europe, Lipa will head to North America in September, with plans to conclude the tour in South America by November.
